JAMES FISHER
Plan Administrator
James Fisher serves as Plan Administrator for the City of Pembroke Pines Fire and Police Pension Fund, bringing over 40 years of dedicated service to the City and its public safety community.
A graduate of Florida State University, James began his career as a Police Officer with the City of Pembroke Pines in 1983. Over a distinguished 24-year career, he rose to the rank of Sergeant before retiring in 2007.
In addition to his law enforcement service, James played a significant role in pension governance, serving as a Pension Board Trustee and Chairman from 1986 through 2007. He also served as a representative for the Police Benevolent Association (PBA), now the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), advocating for the interests of fellow officers.
Following his retirement, James transitioned into pension administration, serving as Assistant Plan Administrator from 2007 to 2012 and as Plan Administrator since 2012. In this role, he oversees the day-to-day operations of the Fund and works closely with trustees, actuaries, auditors, legal counsel, and investment professionals to ensure effective management and long-term stability.
His combined experience in public safety, governance, and administration provides a comprehensive understanding of the Fund and the needs of its members.
