About Us
The Pembroke Pines Firefighters and Police Officers Pension Fund was established to provide retirement security for the City’s sworn firefighters and police officers who have dedicated their careers to protecting and serving the Pembroke Pines community.
The Pension Office supports the administration of the Fund by assisting members, retirees, beneficiaries, trustees, and professional service providers with pension-related matters. Our work is guided by the Board of Trustees and focused on responsible administration, member service, transparency, and the long-term preservation of benefits.
Our Office Dedication
The Pension Office is dedicated to the memory and legacy of the late Fire Chief Philip L. Rosenthal, whose leadership was instrumental in establishing the Pension Plan for the benefit of Pembroke Pines firefighters and police officers.
Chief Rosenthal served as a Trustee from the inaugural Pension Board meeting in October 1979 until September 1990, helping guide the Plan during its foundational years. He understood the importance of strong retirement benefits for first responders and brought that commitment to Pembroke Pines.
He also championed trustee education and encouraged members to understand their retirement benefits and long-term financial options. His contributions continue to provide lasting security for hundreds of members, retirees, and generations of their families.
We honor Chief Rosenthal’s service, leadership, and enduring legacy.
